The Consular Section assists Namibian citizens in the Republics of Ghana, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Sierra Leone respectively. It also provides visa services (both non-immigrant and immigrant) to residents of the countries of accreditation.
Services offered include (but are not limited to) citizen registration, nationality and passport related matters, emergency travel documents, issuance of entry visas, registration of birth, death, marriage, etc. Please note that the High Commission can only issue Tourist and Business visas. Work/Study/Research visas must be applied for directly to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Mission works with authorities of the host country to assist Namibian victims of crime, monitor arrests of and pay consular visits to incarcerated Namibian citizens to ensure that they are being treated in a manner consistent with local and international law, and to locate missing Namibians. The Mission is also responsible for assisting Namibian citizens in its jurisdiction in the event of natural disasters or other large-scale emergencies.
The Consular Section is open from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm Monday through Friday, except on holidays.
